Domestic Guarantee

This guarantee is provided by SEBO (UK) Ltd in addition to your legal rights as a consumer and does not affect them. Nothing in this guarantee reduces the rights you have under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other consumer protection law — for example your rights if a product is faulty, not as described, or not of satisfactory quality. The conditions below (such as registering within 30 days) apply only to the additional, voluntary cover this guarantee provides. This guarantee is provided in accordance with, and is subject to, the laws and regulations of the United Kingdom.

1. Guarantee periods at a glance

All periods run from the date of purchase, and the guarantee becomes effective only when you register your machine within 30 days of purchase. You can register at www.sebo.co.uk.

2. What this guarantee covers

Subject to the conditions and exclusions below, SEBO (UK) Ltd guarantees your machine against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship for the applicable period shown above. Where a valid claim is made, we will repair or replace the affected parts, and cover the labour involved, free of charge.

This guarantee applies only to new SEBO machines bought from authorised SEBO retailers in the UK and Ireland, used and maintained in accordance with the operating instructions.

3. Conditions of the guarantee

To make a claim under this guarantee, the following conditions apply:

•      You must provide the machine’s serial number and the date and place of purchase. Please keep your proof of purchase and a note of the serial number safe — work may be chargeable without proof of purchase.

•      All work must be carried out or authorised by SEBO (UK) Ltd. Unauthorised work involving the removal of any screws is not covered.

•      The machine must be maintained in line with its operating instructions.

•      Any parts we replace become the property of SEBO (UK) Ltd.

•      This guarantee is non-transferable and applies to the original purchaser.

•      Where collection or disposal of a machine is required, a reasonable fee may apply, which we will tell you about in advance. This does not apply where you are exercising your statutory rights in respect of faulty goods, where collection is arranged at our cost (see our Shipping & Returns policy).

4. What this guarantee does not cover

This guarantee does not cover:

•      Machines not assembled, used, or maintained in accordance with the operating instructions.

•      Fair wear and tear, accidental damage, misuse, neglect, or improper maintenance, or any machine whose serial number has been altered, defaced or removed.

•      Consumable and wearing items, including (but not limited to) bags, filters, brush rollers, mains cables, hoses (excluding electrical hoses), tubes, air belts, base plates and attachments such as turbo brushes and floor nozzles.

•      Reduced battery run times over time (cordless machines).

•      Normal maintenance, servicing, or the clearing of blockages (blockage clearing carried out by SEBO will incur a service charge).

•      Damage caused by external sources such as transit, weather, or proximity to heat (for example fires, ovens, radiators or direct sunlight).

•      Damage caused by liquid intake, building materials, or hot material such as ash.

•      Damage caused by unauthorised work.

•      Damage caused by carpet cleaners, fresheners or chemicals not sold by SEBO.

•      Wear and tear caused by carrying an upright vacuum cleaner by the handle shaft rather than the correct carrying handle.

•      The use of non-genuine SEBO parts, including (but not limited to) bags, filters, batteries, and spares, can be harmful to the machine, and the use of such parts will invalidate the guarantee.

•      Washing filters and re-using bags can damage the machine and will invalidate the guarantee. This does not apply to the motor protection filter of the SEBO BALANCE A1, which is designed to be washable in accordance with the operating instructions.

5. Our liability

We do not exclude or limit our liability to you where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, for defective products under the Consumer Protection Act 1987, and for any breach of your statutory rights as a consumer.

Subject to the paragraph above, SEBO (UK) Ltd will not be liable for loss or damage that was not a foreseeable result of a defect in the machine. This guarantee covers the repair or replacement of the machine as set out above; it does not cover other costs except to the extent required by law.

SEBO Corded Vacuum Cleaners

Subject to the terms and conditions below, SEBO (UK) Ltd guarantee domestic machines against manufacturing defects for a period of 5 year for parts and labour. It becomes effective ONLY when the registration is completed within 30 days of purchase.

Before any work can take place, you must supply the machine’s serial number and the date and place of purchase. Please keep the proof of purchase receipt and a record of the serial number in a safe place to ensure guarantee cover. Work may be chargeable without proof of purchase.This guarantee applies to new SEBO machines bought from authorised UK SEBO retailers only.

• All work must be undertaken or authorised by SEBO (UK) Ltd. Unauthorised work involving the removal of any screws will invalidate the guarantee.
• The machine must be maintained as per its operating instructions.
• Any parts replaced will become the property of SEBO (UK) Ltd.
• The guarantee applies to the UK mainland only*.
• The guarantee only covers normal household domestic use in accordance with the operating instructions. For commercial use, the guarantee is limited to one year for parts and labour.
• The use of non-genuine SEBO parts, including (but not limited to) bags, filters and spares, can be harmful to the machine, and the use of such parts will invalidate the guarantee.
• Washing filters and re-using bags can damage the machine and will invalidate the guarantee.
• The guarantee commences from the date of purchase.
• The SEBO guarantee is non-transferable.
• SEBO reserve the right to charge a fee if the disposal of a machine is required.

SEBO Cordless Vacuum Cleaners

Subject to the terms and conditions below, SEBO (UK) Ltd guarantee BALANCE cordless vacuum cleaners against manufacturing defects for a period of 2 years for parts and labour. It becomes effective ONLY when the registration is completed within 30 days of purchase. Please go to www.sebo.co.uk to register your warranty.

Before any work can take place, you must supply the machine’s serial number and the date and place of purchase. Please keep the proof of purchase receipt and a record of the serial number in a safe place to ensure warranty cover. Work may be chargeable without proof of purchase. This warranty applies to new SEBO machines bought from authorised SEBO UK Ltd retailers only.
