Operations Supervisor

We are a medium sized family run Company looking for a full-time permanent Operations Supervisor to join our friendly and committed team of professionals. Monday to Friday 0830 to 1700.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for warehouse staff activities
  • Responsible for accurate receipt and recording of inbound stock, including the booking in of returned goods and machines to be repaired
  • Responsible for prompt and accurate despatch and receipt of goods
  • Responsible for stock in the service room
  • Hands on approach, working alongside the warehouse team
  • Allocate available resources to enable successful task performance
  • Co-ordinate and liaise with other teams in the business
  • Maintain the storage/racking/bay picking system, ensuring continuity when new stock lines are introduced
  • Ensure security, integrity and confidentiality of customer data
  • Ensure implementation of and adherence to, Company policies and procedures
  • Analyse and monitor internal processes to ensure continual improvement
  • Implement procedural and policy changes to improve operational efficiency
  • Prepare operational reports
  • Manage all negotiations with relevant logistics suppliers, ensuring quality of service and cost efficiency
  • Manage all warehouse purchases, ensuring quality of product and cost efficiency
  • Sign off all logistics and supplies invoices
  • Maintain a safe and secure working environment within the warehouse
  • Work closely with the person responsible for SEBO stock ordering
  • Coach and mentor warehouse staff, including their mental health well being
  • Work closely with the Office and Customer Service Manager and Directors on all areas of recruitment and selection, staff welfare, training and development, performance management and Health and Safety
  • Conduct annual performance reviews, setting objectives for the year ahead
  • Keyholder responsibility
  • Full responsibility and accountability for warehouse specifics as listed;
  • Forklift truck maintenance
  • Roller shutter door maintenance
  • Annual stocktake of entire stock
  • Weekly stocktake of high value products
  • Ensure the warehouse environment and stock is clean and tidy

Skills and Experience

  • Previous warehouse experience
  • Forklift truck licence – Reach/Counterbalance
  • Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to time manage and prioritise effectively
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office including Outlook (emails, contacts and diaries), Word
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics would be an advantage
  • Previous experience in operational management
  • Human Resources knowledge and experience
